Story

Akari Yamanashi is a high school girl, who lives out her daily life as any other,
and carries the same worries like all others.    
One day, Akari helped out a woman in strange clothing,
after coming back from supplementary lessons.    
 
"As a token of gratitude, let me invite you to the Witches' Realm."    
    
When Akari wakes up, she notices a faint strangeness to her commute path.
She begins to see strange and horrible monsters creeping up.
But in exchange, magical powers awaken in her. Can Akari make it back to her own world?

Operation Instructions

When using a gamepad, go to the key config menu at the start.

[←][↑][↓][→] / Directional Button
 To move
 Move one space. By combining two directional input, the player can move diagonally.

[Z] Key / [Attack] Button
 Use magic / Check space in front of player
 Use magic in the player's current slot, or speak to other characters.

[X] Key / [Dash] Button
 Walk faster
 Pressing this button will allow the player to move faster, and complete dungeons faster.

[A] Key / [Focus] Button
 Focus / Display Area of Effect for Magic / Display explanations
 Turn on the spot. While pressing focus, the player cannot move.
 As well, the button will show the area of effect for the current magic slot.

 If pressed longer, the camera will shift towards the direction the player is facing.
 Pressing with [Dash] Button will allow the player to move diagonally.

 Pressing this button in the menu will display explanations of items and magic.

[S] Key / [Menu] Button
 Open menu
 The menu will appear.

[C][D] Key / [Select L][Select R] Button
 Change magic slots / Change menu category will change
 Can change selected spell slots.
 While pressing this button in the menu, the categories, "Item," "Magic," "Profile," "Config" can interchange.

The Witches' Realm

What is the Witches' Realm?

The setting where the Akari's adventures take place looks similar to her commute to school.
However, the path she walks is no longer the same and are inhabited by strange creatures who run rampant.

But do not fear, for Akari possesses the hidden powers of magic.
 
Area

Taking the shape of her commute, an "Area" is a small location where the player can walk around, and often referred in numbers, such as "Block ○ (〇丁目)."

A path connects different areas together, but are only one-way.
Once traveled, the road behind the player disappears without a trace.
Also, monsters do not move between areas while any received status effects on the player will also disappear when going between areas.

As the block number increases, it is a sign that the player is progressing deeper into the Witches' Realm, and it is said that a boss awaits at the very end.
 
Monster

They are creatures that live in the Witches' Realm.
Their true form is that of a magical crystalline structure that relentlessly attacks, but holds no grudges against the player; mostly reacting to a foreign entity crossing their path.

In contrast, monsters summoned by the player are friendly and obey the player's command.
 
Witches' Village

Somewhere in the Witches' Realm, there is a village where the witches reside.
A witch is born from the enchantment and live for hundreds of years.
They treat strangers who stumble upon the village with open arms; just don't make them angry.

Magic and Status

What is Magic?

Magic is the player's first and foremost weapon of choice when attacking.
It is not just for attacking, but for healing, defense, movement, and much more.
There is a variety of magic to help the player's adventure into the treacherous Witches' Realm.
 
Elements of Magic

There are four elements of magic; "Heat," which controls fire and explosions; "Frost," which controls water and cold; "Storm," which controls wind and thunder; and finally "Earth," which controls ground and metal.

The element of heat focuses on firepower and is mainly for attacking.
The frost element relies on status effects, from poisoning and sleeping the enemies to defensive spells.
The storm element is most often supplementary spells, healing the player or allowing them to move faster.
Finally, the earth element deals with magic that affects the entire field or enemies in a wide area of effect.

There are many attributes to the elements, and as such, there are no obvious affinities towards or against each element. For instance, a monster can be weak against mist type when they have no defense against a hot object or waterproofed, and steel can be weak against storm types, which contains thunder. So when facing off against monsters, there are certain trends that they follow for weakness.
 
Magic Parameter

Other than elements, there is "Power" that shows how much damage a spell can do, "MP cost" that dictates what is necessary to cast the spell, "Area" that illustrates the area of effect, and "Special," which describes any unique effects associated with the magic.

As well, all magic have "Levels," which can be raised by applying items and merging magic, which increases the spells ability.

There are also certain potent spells that can be selected but take time to cast. This time frame is called casting.
 
Creating Magic

The player is free to create any magic as a magical high school girl.
Obtain a magicite that contains energy within them called, "Anonymous magicite."
The player is then allowed to "name" it, which allows the magicite to increase in power and become a spell. Like other crafted magic, the player can use them freely. A magicite given the same name will always create the same magic, so it may be useful to tell friends any strong magic a player may have crafted.

There are keywords, such as "Fire," "Thunder," and "Shoot," that are already given that conforms to the performance of the magic. There are many of these keywords to discover, and some can be obtained by helpful witches.
 
Spell Merging

Additionally, by combining two different spells, a player can create a new spell.
By combining the spells, the player can mix unique features, increase potency and area of effect of that magic, and raise the level cap of the magic.By doing so allows the player to beat stronger enemies and create a wider variety of magic.

Magicite

Magicites are unique stones that contain energy inside.
These can be obtained throughout the Witches' Realm, as well as purchasing them from the Witches. Utilizing the magicites do not cost MP since they contain energy inherently. Once the magicite is used, the magic inside it will be automatically learned.

Most magicites are those that do not contain energy inside, called "White magicite." These are used as currency, but can be used to store magic as well (though requiring a high-level witch to do so...)
 
MP and HP

There are two critical parameters that a player should be aware of; HP and MP.
Magic Points, or MP, is a gauge that shows how much energy a player has. Once the MP hits zero, the player will lose strength and falter. MP will decrease when utilizing magic, but can also deplete when taking damage.

HP stands for Happy Points, and as long as there are points, MP will automatically recover while walking. Please be cautious, as MP will not recover when HP is gone. Also, HP will deplete when taking damage.

MP is written in bottom-left side of screen as numbers, and HP is shown as milk cans in top-left side of screen.

 
Bad Status

There may be times where the player may be affected by bad status, each affecting in their unique ways for a certain amount of time.

PoisonedFor each action, a set amount of MP will deplete.
AsleepCannot perform any action, and awaken when taking damage.
BlindNarrows the player's field of view, and has a chance of missing direct attacks.
CursedAction speed is reduced by half and can only move once every two turns.
BoostAction speed is doubled, and can move twice per turn.
ImmobilizedCannot move, but can cast magic as usual.
StunnedCannot perform any action, but can recover after a turn.
SmellyMP depletes when performing an action.
SilencedCannot cast any spells.
FrozenCannot perform any actions. The status can thaw out the player at random or can be negated by taking heat damage.
BurnedMP depletes when performing action.
 
Monsters are also affected by the same status as the player. Utilizing these bad statuses can influence the outcome of the battle.
 
List of Magic Attributes

MultiDamage will occur twice. Special Effects will occur twice.
AbsorbWhen defeating an enemy, it will occasionally drain MP.
BerserkPotency will increase as HP decreases.
SuicideAfter casting, on occasion, it damages the player.
MP RecoveryRecovers MP, at the cost of depleting HP.
PierceThe magic will pierce enemies.
CounterThe magic will take effect once a player is attacked.
ProtectA barrier that reduces the damage of one physical attack.
Holy GuardA barrier that allows a player to survive once upon taking lethal damage.
MoveCan move up to specified spaces.
StealOccasionally take items.
SummonSummon a faithful ally in front of player.
DispellDispell all buffs on enemy.

TIPS

When the player's MP is gone, player will lose consciousness. Player's will drop items but retain level and magic.

Save Data occurs when moving to another area, or when a player dies. At the Witches' Town, every conversation will save the game.

There are monsters that are known to use magic. They will attack from range, so be careful.

Sometimes, monsters will drop items when they are defeated; some frequently and others not so often.

As the story progresses, there will be items a player can obtain called "Badges." These badges create some effect for the player who merely wields them, so use them often.

HP will always deplete, but more so when recovering MP. Always replenish MP sparingly and timely when player HP is critical.

If you play with full-screen mode, use resolution of 1280x720, so game UIs are suitable for the screen.
